Major update to the CSP syllabus

The CSP syllabus (CSP11) will officially launch on August 1, 2025, marking a major overhaul of the exam format!


Major update to the CSP syllabus


1、The weight of the exam syllabus has been redistributed, with two main lines: 25% advanced application + 25% project management!

The new syllabus (CSP11) restructures the knowledge system, with "Advanced Safety Principles Application" and "Project Management" each accounting for 25% of the total content, accounting for half of the total content. The previous syllabus (CSP10), which had fragmented "Scientific Foundations," "Safety Applications," and "Management Systems," has been deeply integrated to focus on the core competencies of safety managers.



2、Ability upgrade, application first, focus on practical skills

The CSP11 exam syllabus keywords have shifted from "knowledge of" to "apply," "evaluate," and "implement," directly targeting security managers' practical ability to solve complex problems.



The latest version of the CSP11 syllabus has 7 major themes and their proportions：
Advanced Application of Safety Principles • 25%
Program Management• 25%
Risk Management • 15%
Emergency Management • 9%
Environmental Management • 6%
Occupational Health and Applied Science • 10%
Training • 10%

3、Big news! The Law and Ethics module has been completely removed.


A major change! "Law and Ethics," a mandatory component of the US professional exam since its inception (Domain 9 in the old CSP10 syllabus, accounting for 7.33%), has been completely removed from CSP11! Difficulties such as the US legal system and the BCSP Code of Ethics, which once plagued Chinese test-takers, are now a thing of the past!

⚠️ Note: Ethical requirements have not disappeared! BCSP has upgraded them to a credential maintenance system, strengthening professional ethics through continuing education and setting higher standards for credential holders.
